A beautiful day in Machias as we kick off my mother's low maintenance birthday celebration. She doesn't ask for much, my mother, just a library card, a 2:00 P.M. latte and willing pupils of the art of swing dancing. Today she cut a rug with her grandson, and he sure is cunning. Of course, her lovely assistant Cara was right in the mix.
