First-time exercise for me and the boy (come April 27 I'll have to call him "the man"): oblique twists. It looks easy and goofy (like a game of Twister), but you feel it. Part of the reason, no doubt, is that prior to this exercise we did 25 burpee finger-tip pull-ups. We also did incline push-ups on the medicine ball (3x10) and decline push-ups on the medicine ball (3x10), as well as one set each of the Russian twist and toe touch. In the morning I did 30 minutes with the speed rope out in the shed, watching the stippling sunlight on the snow.

Today, as I slid on the parking lot ice to my car, I saw a bumper sticker that summed up my life most succinctly: BOLDLY GOING NOWHERE
